Chatw is a free anonymous chat for adults. There is no registration, no email and no phone number. Pick any name, choose your gender tag, and you are in the chat.
Your name is the only thing other people see, plus the tags you choose. Nobody sees your real name, your email or where you live.
What you can do without an account
Talk in the chat rooms: the main adult room, a safe-for-work room and a Suggestions room. Send private messages (DMs) to anyone, and start group chats with several people.
Share pictures, videos and GIFs in the rooms, in private messages and in group chats. Send voice notes and short camera clips, and call people from a private chat. View-once pictures disappear after the other person opens them.
What the site keeps, and for how long
Your chat identity is a random ID kept in your browser. It is deleted 45 days after your last visit. Each room keeps only its last 250 messages. Private chats keep their last 200 messages and are deleted after 30 days without a message. You can delete your own messages, or a whole private chat, at any time.
Raw IP addresses are not saved. To stop banned people coming back, the site keeps scrambled one-way codes of your network and browser, and deletes them after 30 days. The Privacy Policy lists everything.
Anonymous, but not lawless
Anonymous does not mean anything goes. It is adults only, and illegal content is reported to the authorities. Spam bots are caught and removed. You can block anyone, and report a message or a person with one tap.
If you want to know someone is real, look for the voice check, photo verification and HUMAN badges.
How to stay anonymous while you chat
Use a name that is not your real name and not a username you use anywhere else. Someone can search for a username and find your other accounts.
Do not share your phone number, social media, workplace or address in the chat. Think before you send a photo: a face, a street sign or a school logo can show who you are. Use view-once pictures if you only want someone to see a photo one time.
If someone pushes you for personal details, you do not owe them an answer. Block them, and report them if they threaten you.
Keep your name, still with no email
Your anonymous identity lives in your browser. If you clear it, you start fresh. To keep your name and chats on other devices, add a username and password in your profile. There is still no email or phone number.

No. Chatw at chatw.org is a separate site, not affiliated with chatiw.com. It was called Chatiw App until November 2026.
